The Czech National Junior Championships 2017, 3rd place

I won the Prague Regional Tennis Championships in May 2017 and consequently qualified to the National Championships. As an unseeded player I had to play a qualifying round and was placed in the top half of the draw where most of the tournament's top players and favourites to win the whole tournament were placed as well. In my first round I was not playing my best tennis, but I was able to fight and my determination helped me to succeed. I won against T. Pluharova 7:6 (6), 7:6 (2) and proceeded in the draw to meet I. Sebestova, seeded player. I played very well during this match and pulled through with 6:0,6:3 victory. I played against K.Hajkova, number four seed, in the round of 16. I could have won the match in two sets, if I would not have a weaker moment at the end of the first set- I lost 4:6. However, I was able to refocus and win the next two sets 6:3, 6:4. In the quarterfinals I played against V. Nikolovova. I was playing a very active and aggressive game and was dictating the points. The outcome was a well deserved three set victory- 6:2,4:6, 6:3. In the semifinals, I met the number one seed and the biggest tournament favourite, J. Markova. I gave it my best and the score in the first set was very close- I lost by one break. My opponent had a very well executed serve, which helped her tremendously. However, from the baseline and during the rallies it was an incredibly close match. Finishing third in the Czech Republic in the junior division among such high competition is a great accomplishment and I am really proud of myself.
